About me

Hello everyone! My name is Jolanta & I live in Kaunas, Lithuania. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master's Degree in Information Technology Education.

I'm  information and communication technologies teacher in Kaunas "Vyturys" gymnasium more than 20 years. My students are between 11-19 years old. Studens always using computers or tablets during my lessons. I have my own computer lab with 15 PC, internet  access, WiFi and multimedia projector. Through ICT lessons my pupils learn code, typing and other computer skills, Internet etiquette, personal data security, copyright protection issues and etc. Sometimes my students created online quizes and websites.

Besides teaching, I conduct workshops and trainings to teachers how to use computer's technology and distance learning environment in classroom. Sometimes I participate in the online courses of the European Schoolnet Academy.  I like to travel with my class students, to drive a car, to meet friends and spend my holidays by the sea, of course.

However, every day surfing the Internet and using social networks are not safe for children. I think that now the kids do not care about their safety online, and this is a big problem. There are many risks facing children when they go online and I am attending this course to know more on how to tackle the issue of Internet safety.

I'm very excited about this course and I can't wait to learn more about online safety challenges. I wish for us a nice and playfull learning journey.
